Catherine M. Benson

Catherine M. Benson has been providing tax and accounting services to thousands of clients in Central New York since the 1980s. Shortly after obtaining her CPA license in 1981 she worked for a large regional firm and then later opened her first tax preparation office in Hamilton, New York during the fall of 1984. As her business grew through hard work and networking she realized the firm was getting too big for just one CPA, subsequently a few years later she become a co-founder of Vollmer & Benson CPAs in 1991.

After the unfortunate passing of her business partner Catherine moved her office to Oneida, New York in 1998 and immediately acquired another large practice in the area and grew the business to 600 tax and business clients before merging with Michael Dec and forming Dec & Benson in 2013. 

 

During her career Catherine has specialized in tax return preparation for individuals and small businesses. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Catherine retired in 2018 and moved to Florida where she now resides with her husband and two dogs.
